See wild elephants captured on film 🎥

Welcome to the Way Kambas National Park–where YOU are protecting wild elephants and their forest home!

Thanks to your amazing support, the River Patrol Team is out in the forest every day, keeping elephants and other wildlife safe from danger. These dedicated rangers work hard to stop illegal hunting, logging, and wildfires–threats that could devastate the park. Their very presence not only tackles problems as they arise, but also helps prevent future harm too.

And the best part? While on patrol, the team carefully records any signs of wildlife. From footprints on the forest floor to scratch marks on trees, every detail tells a story. They also use hidden trail cameras to capture incredible moments of animals living freely in the wild, like tigers, tapirs, deer, sun bears... and of course, elephants!

In the last few months, the team has spotted:

  • Five direct sightings of wild Sumatran elephants
  • More than 30 indirect signs, like dung and signs of elephant feeding.

Check out this incredible video of Sumatran elephants, captured on trail camera hidden deep in the forest:

This information isn’t just exciting, it’s vital. By tracking elephant movements, we can learn exactly where they are spending their time, so we can focus protection efforts where it’s needed most. Whether that’s keeping the area free from illegal threats, or alerting nearby villages if they wander too close to farmland, this information is crucial to support the long term survival and growth of this wild and wonderful elephant population.

As an extra special thank you for all you do for elephants, here’s another glimpse into the secret lives of Way Kambas’ wild elephant herds:

None of this would be possible without you. Your generosity ensures the River Patrol Team can continue protecting Way Kambas, giving elephants and all the park’s wildlife the chance to live freely and thrive in their natural home.

Every patrol, every sighting, and every elephant protected is thanks to you. Your support means elephants in Way Kambas National Park have a safe future, because you choose to stand with them.

Thank you 🙌🏼
