Celebrating World Ranger Day 🌳

Elephants, tigers, and sun bears, oh my!

Today is World Ranger Day, and we're excited for you to meet the amazing Wildlife Protection Unit, and see their incredible work in action.

These dedicated rangers patrol and protect the rainforests of the Bukit Tigapuluh Ecosystems in Sumatra. They stand between elephants and harm, protecting the elephants’ rainforest home from illegal logging and poaching. They also monitor elephants in the wild, and help prevent human-elephant conflict.

And they do it with your help! Your kindness helps keep rangers on the ground, protecting elephants and their forest homes, every single day.

Good news from the field

Here's something worth celebrating: illegal activity across the area has dropped in the past couple of months. That's not just luck. That's rangers on the ground, deterring harm before it happens.

And it's only possible because people like you help keep these amazing rangers in the field!

Rangers have recently recorded 150 wildlife encounter points in the Bukit Tigapuluh rainforests. Some of the animals spotted were the Sumatran tiger, Sumatran elephant, and Malayan sun bear.

This is a positive sign that the rainforests are wild, thriving and full of life. All because you help protect it!

The best part: elephants in the wild

Now for the update we know you've been waiting for. Elephants spotted in the wild! These photos are proof that your support is helping keep elephants wild, safe and free.

Your support means rangers in the field, and elephants protected!
